Rome is the place that inspired my love of the built environment, New York is where I found professional success in the restoration field, and Philadelphia is my hometown. Here at home, I find that preservation is an uphill battle, underfunded, unprotected, and undervalued. Preservation encapsulates the wider needs of a city with endangered landscapes, buildings, structures, and hidden histories.

My work at the Fairmount Park Conservancy has allowed me to commit my work to the needs of park users to bring people into the public realm. The tangible landmarks of the built environment are the artwork of everyday lives of everyday people. Working to restore and increase the visibility of the historic buildings of Fairmount Park has allowed me to overlap my professional passions with my civic duty. As a former member of the APTNE Chapter, I have missed the opportunity to convene with colleagues and engage the community through events, tours, and workshops. Joining the Board of APTDVC in its efforts to bring more attention and interest to the mission of preservation in our region would be an honor and a joy.
