Limited parking will be available on Day 1 at Fleisher Art Memorial in their lot across the street as well as on-street parking around the neighborhood.

Parking for Day 2 at Materials Conservation Co. will be limited on-street parking around the neighborhood.

We encourage you to use public transit or carpool if possible.

The Association for Preservation Technology Delaware Valley Chapter will be offering a free two-day symposium on the Philadelphia Row House. 

Learn techniques to maintain and repair Philadelphia Row House from experienced professionals. Topics that the two-day symposium will discuss and demonstrate include:

  • Underpinning Existing Walls and Repairing Rubblestone Foundations

  • Multi-Wythe or Mass Masonry Wall Stabilization & Repair

  • Hygrothermal and Freeze/Thaw Considerations when Insulating Mass Masonry Walls

  • Ventilation and HVAC

  • Wood Window Repair and Replacement

  • Flashing and Roofing Systems

  • Chimney Repair Best Practices

A panel of speakers from the Historic Commission and L&I will also be present to discuss and answer questions on how to go about permitting, inspecting, and getting repairs and alterations approved by the City.

This symposium will be valuable to both professionals and homeowners in learning how to deal with common problems in row house construction and how to make them more energy efficient.
