Built from 1855-87, the American Academy of Music, also known as the "Grand Old Lady of Locust Street," is the oldest opera house in the United States. Over the last 164 years, this spectacular building has been the home of the Philadelphia Orchestra, and is today the home of the Philadelphia Ballet and Opera.
